Web-based training courses are available via the Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI), a training effort founded by Fred Hutch and the University of Miami.
Each CITI course consists of individual modules. Most modules take about 15-20 minutes each. A full course takes 3 - 5 hours to complete and can be finished all at once or broken up into smaller sessions.
Visit CITI to take basic or refresher Human Subjects courses. Refer to the CITI Login and Registration Instructions document below for help in creating an account and signing up for courses.
Merging of SCCA and Fred Hutch CITI Accounts
As of November 29, 2022, the CITI accounts associated with the former Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center (FHCRC) and Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (SCCA) institutions have been consolidated into one organizational account under Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center.
The CITI account consolidation provides one source for managing CITI training records for all Fred Hutch employees and non-employees, standardized course requirements across the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center institution, and streamlined training completion tracking.
What has changed and who does this impact?
All historical completion records associated with the following courses have been transferred from the SCCA CITI account into the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center CITI account:
- Good Clinical Practice (GCP),
- Human Subjects Protection (HSP), and
- Clinical Trial Billing Course (CTBC)
All SCCA CITI account users are now affiliated with the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center CITI account and can access their records with the same login credentials.
SCCA CITI account users whose training was in process at the time of the account consolidation will still get credit for any modules completed within the SCCA instance of CITI. The module completion records will be migrated to the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center account.
This change does not impact users who completed training in the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center CITI account.
Next steps
As of December 30, 2022, the SCCA CITI account was deactivated. All new users must affiliate with Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center for CITI registration.
All current employees and non-employees can continue to use their CITI ID and password when logging into CITI.
